Ældrun is committed to sustainable gardens. During our initial consultation we will assess your garden’s micro habitat, resources, and layout. Our mission is to create  healthy living plant/soil ecosystems without chemicals or extensive maintenance. Ældrun employs natural biological methods to build soil fertility for healthy plants. These methods include:
 

  • Enriching the soil using natural soil amendments such as compost, worm castings and wood chips.
  • Installing plants chosen specifically for your garden habitat this includes; native plants, NW grown plants, and companion planting.
  • Growing plants that provide food, shelter and habitat for birds, butterflies, beneficial insects and other wildlife which play a part in maintaining a healthy, natural environment..

 

Garden Maintenance

Gardens are living extensions of every home. Seasonal maintenance of all gardens ensures plant and garden habitats thrive. Overgrowth, weeds, pests, winter rains, summer drought, all impact the garden. Our Garden Maintenance Services include fine pruning of shrubs and trees to maintain a natural form, planting, transplanting, seasonal garden cleanup and mulching. Our garden specialists will assess your irrigation system and adjust or repair for optimal reduced water consumption.
